My name is David Sears and in June 2016, upon completion of my VTCT level 3 certificate in sports massage, I set up D.S Sports Massage following this in June 2017 I completed my level 4 certificate. Completing the level 4 gave me a greater knowledge on how to better manage injuries and how to give clients a better massage.
I am a fully mobile Sports massage therapist meaning that you can have your massage in the comfort of your own home. I bring everything that need from oils to massage table. If possible it is preferred that a client use their own towels however I also provide clean fresh ones for each massage.
I see clients with a wide variety of different backgrounds from those who are heavily into sport to those who may not be as active, from office worker to manual labourers, to feel the benefit of a sports massage there is no hard and fast rule that you have to be an athlete we all get knots, injuries etc meaning we can all benefit from a sports massage.
A bit more about me
To tell you a little about myself as mentioned above I am a level 4 qualified sports massage therapist. originally the plan was to become a physiotherapy and doing the sports massage course was a stepping stone but having started the course I discovered that i really like the hands on nature of sports massage and it appears I’m not bad at it either (please check out the reviews) so I decided to set up the business and haven’t looked a back since.
out side of work I have tried my hand at most sports but rugby was the one that I was most successful with playing both codes, league and union. i am also a keen runner having completed various 10k, half marathons and one marathon. I think that having played various sports I have been allowed to gain a better understanding of the types of injury that can occur which will help me treat them better.
