Dry Cupping with Sports Massage

Dry Cupping Treatment

Release Tension & Improve Recovery

Dry Cupping with Sports Massage combines hands-on sports massage with dry cupping as part of the same treatment.

The cups create gentle suction on the skin while I continue treating other areas with sports massage, making the most of your appointment from start to finish.

Like every appointment at D.S Sports Massage, treatment begins with a conversation and assessment so I can understand what’s been causing your symptoms before tailoring the treatment to your individual needs.

What to expect during your treatment

Every appointment begins with a conversation about what’s been happening, followed by an assessment to help identify the cause of your pain or discomfort.

Once I understand what’s going on, I’ll explain my findings in plain English before tailoring the treatment to your individual needs.

During your treatment, the cups are placed over specific areas to create gentle suction. While the cups are working, I’ll often continue treating another area with hands-on sports massage, making the most of your appointment from start to finish.

Depending on your symptoms, the cups may be repositioned or used on different areas during the treatment to help target the muscles and tissues we’re focusing on.

Will I have marks after treatment?

Dry Cupping can leave circular marks on the skin, but not everyone will experience them.

Some areas of the body are more likely to mark than others. For example, the shoulders are often more prone to marking, while the legs rarely mark in the same way.

If marks do appear, they can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the individual and the area treated. They will gradually fade over time.

Before your treatment, I’ll explain what you can expect and answer any questions you may have.

When could Dry Cupping with Sports Massage help?

Dry Cupping with Sports Massage can help with many of the same aches and pains as traditional Sports Massage. Many people book it because they’re curious to see what it’s like or have heard positive things about it from friends, family or other therapists.

Some people really enjoy the combination of sports massage and dry cupping and choose it again for future treatments. Others simply prefer traditional sports massage instead. Like any treatment, everyone’s experience is different.

It may be suitable if you’re experiencing:

  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Back pain or stiffness
  • Tight muscles after exercise
  • Ongoing muscle tension from work or everyday life
  • General aches and pains
  • Muscle fatigue following training or competition
  • Areas of persistent muscle tightness
